DHAKA: All the branches of scheduled banks and Financial Institutions (FIs) will remain closed on April 22 across the country, on the occasion of holy Shab-e-Barat.
The offsite Supervision Division of the Bangladesh Bank issued a new circular on Wednesday (April 17) in this regard.
As per earlier circular issued on November 29 last year, April 21 had been fixed as holiday for Shab-e-Barat.
“According to the decision taken by moon sighting committee of Islamic Foundation, the holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on Sunday (April 21) night. So, the branches of the commercial banks and FIs across the country will remain closed on April 22 (Monday),” said the circular of Bangladesh Bank (BB).
Bangladesh Bank has sent the circular to the chief executive officer of all the banks and financial institutions.
