DHAKA: The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- returned to positive trend on Thursday (April 25) after two consecutive days' losing streak.
DSE turnover has reached Tk 3,829.73 million changed hands while previous session’s turnover was Tk 3328.41 million.
DSEX, the DSE benchmark index, went up by 25.81 points or 0.49 percent, to reach 5,266.17 at the close of day’s trading.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 3.72 points or 0.30 per cent to close at 1,214.87.
But the DS30 comprising blue chips shed over 4.19 points or 0.22 per cent to close at 1,863.94 points.
Of the issues traded, 202 advanced, 102 suffered loss and 40 remained unchanged.
Fortune Shoes topped in the chart of turnover leaders the at Dhaka bourse with shares worth Tk 227.53 million traded while other companies were Monno Ceramic and National Tubes.
Top five gainers at the DSE were AZIZPIPES, GENEXIL, BANGAS, MONNOCERA and ICB3RDNRB.
The overall share index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 102.36 points or 0.63 percent to reach 16,146.49 at close on Thursday.
Of the 238 issues traded, 145 advanced, 73 suffered loss and 20 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 180.13 million on the day.
