DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan said per capita income would surpass USD four thousands by 2040.
The minister made the prediction while chairing a seminar titled ‘Strategies for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Bangladesh.’
The seminar was organized at Sirajul Islam Theatre Hall of Dhaka University on Friday (April 26).
The minister said, “Our current per capita income is close to USD 2000. It will surpass USD 4000 by 2040. The contributors are, for example, farmers, garment workers especially women and expatriate workers.”
He said that by 2030, Bangladesh will reach at low-level of high income country and will become a high-income country by 2041.
