DHAKA: Country’s both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --- witnessed sharp fall in early trade on Sunday (April 28), the first trading session of the week.
Within first two hours of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse declined 2.99 point up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse shed 25.52 point.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 2.99 points or 0.05 percent to 5263.18 points at 12:23 pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also declined 0.54 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 1,215.41 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed over 2.83 points or 0.15 percent to reach at 1861.10 points.
Turnover stands at Tk 1573.61 million on the DSE, riding on National Polymers Industries, Fortune Shoes and Monno Ceramic
National Polymers Industries Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 127.39 million changing hands till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 134 advanced, 146 declined and 49 issues remained unchanged.
However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – declining 25.52 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 16,120.97 also at 12:24pm.
Of the 152 issues traded till then, 60 gained, 66 declined and 26 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 60.79 million.
