DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday (April 30) as pessimistic investors were on buying spree.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 37.02 points or 0.71 percent to 5,212.49 at 12:31 pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 9.16 points or 0.76 percent to stand at 1207.98.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 15.67 points or 0.85 percent to stand at 1851.42 points.
Trade deals stood at 55,681 with volume of transactions at Tk 2,061.51 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 237 advanced, 62 declined and 37 remained unchanged.
National Polymer Industries Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 141.09 million changing hands till then followed by Genex Infosys and Brac Bank.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed upward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index gaining 110.89 points to 15,980.44 also at 12:29 pm.
Of the 165 issues traded till then, 118 gained, 36 declined and 11 remained unchanged with a turnover value of TK 91.66 million.
