DHAKA: Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved seven projects, including 'Construction of Siddhirganj 335 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant' at a cost of Tk 10,116 crore.
Of these, GOB will be Tk 4,406 crore while company’s own financing Tk 490 crore and the project loan is Tk 5,220 crore.
The approval was given at the ECNEC meeting held at NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Tuesday (April 30) with in Prime Minister and ECNEC chairperson Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The project of 'Siddhirganj 335 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant' will be constructed with Tk 3,971 crore.
The construction of 'Chattogram-Feni-Bakhrabad Gas Transmission Parallel Pipeline' project has been approved at a cost of Tk 479 crore.
Under the project, a total of 181 kilometers gas transmission pipeline with 36 inch diameter and 1000 PSIG pressure capacity stretching from Fouzdarhat in Chittagong district to Bakhrabad in Comilla district via Feni will be constructed.
To create the necessary transmission infrastructure from Fauzdarhat to national grid will be constructed for the supply of surplus gas to meet the overall demand of the country.
ECNEC has approved the project 'Construction of warehouse for the preservation of chemical products on temporary basis' with a cost of 80 crores and 'BSCIC Chemical Industrial Park, Munshiganj' project with a cost of Tk 1,615 crore.
