DHAKA: The National Economic Council (NEC) is likely to approve a Tk 202,721 crore annual development programme (ADP) for the 2019-20 fiscal year's budget, giving highest priority to the transport sector, said planning minister M A Mannan.
He said the transport sector would get the highest allocation of Tk 52,805 crore.
The new ADP will be placed before the next meeting of NEC with its Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, the minister added.
The Planning Minister came up with the information during the extended meeting of the ADP held in the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Wednesday (May 8).
In the meeting, the revised ADP allocation of Tk 165,000 crore in FY 2018-19 has been approved. At the same time, Tk 9,620 crores has been approved for autonomous organizations.
He said that 54.33 percent ADP has been implemented in 10 months (July-April) this fiscal which is Tk 96,493 crore. Last fiscal, 52.42 percent of ADP was implemented, which was Tk 82603 crore.
