DHAKA: Key share price indices in the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- closed week in green on Thursday (May 9), the last trading day of the week.
DSE turnover has reached Tk 3762.22 million changed hands while Wednesday’s turnover was Tk 3,317.83 million.
DSEX, the DSE benchmark index, gained 3.44 points, or 0.06 per cent, to reach 5275.83 at the close of day’s trading.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 2.32 points or 0.19 per cent to close at 1220.30.
The DS30 comprising blue chips rose over 6.70 points or 0.36 per cent to close at 1851.34 points.
Of the issues traded, 164 gained, 128 declined and 52 remained unchanged.
Fortune Shoes limited topped the chart of turnover leaders with a value of Tk 192.25 million followed by Indo-Bangla pharmaceuticals and Esquire Knit.
The day’s top five gainers at the DSE were OIMEX, NFML, FUWANGCER, FUWANGFOOD and INTRACO.
The CSE key index, CSCX, also went up by 3.08 points or 0.26 percent to reach 1175.85 at the close today.
Of the 224 issues traded, 106 advanced, 82 suffered loss and 36 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 200.73 million on Thursday.
