DHAKA: Share price indices at the country's both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --witnessed positive trend as market opened on Sunday (May 12).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 17.53 points or 0.33 percent to reach 5293 points at about 11:51 am.
The two other indices also saw upward trend. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 2.31 points or 0.18 percent to stand at 1,222.62 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips rose 2.93 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 1,854.28 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1770.81 million on the DSE, riding on AB Bank and Paramount Textile Ltd.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 126.27 million changing hands followed by Fortune Shoes and Oimex Electrode.
Of the issues traded till then, 184 gained, 96 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 60.12 points or 0.37 percent to stand at 16,246.67, also at about 11:49 am today.
Of the 162 issues traded till then, 101 gained, 50 declined and 11 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 82.18 million.
