DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses is underway with downward trend of share-price indices on Monday (May 13), second trading day of the week.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange Broad Index, DSEX, shed over 6.98 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 5,266.93 at 12:11pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 2.31 points or 0.18 percent to stand at 1,216.70.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also lost 2.17 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 1,844.30 points.
Trade deals stood at 38425 with volume of transactions at Tk 1,449.65 million.
Of the issues traded, 103 advanced, 167 declined and 61 remained unchanged.
Oimex Electrode Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 75.32 million having changed hands followed by Dhaka Electric Supply Company and Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals.
Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed down to 16129.61 by dropping over 44.29 points or 0.27 percent at about 12:09pm.
Out of the 143 issues traded, 37 gained, 89 declined and 17 remained unchanged with shares worth Tk 69.18 million traded.
