DHAKA: Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will remain closed for nine days from May 31 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr including weekly holidays, officials said.
The decision was taken at a DSE board meeting held on Thursday (May 23) at the DSE board room, said a DSE official.
According to DSE official, the Eid vacation will begin from June 4 and continue till June 8. But May 31 and June 1 are weekends and June 2 is government holiday for Shab-e-Qadr.
June 3 is not holiday but DSE board decided to keep the trading and official activities closed for the day, which mean the total vacation will be for nine days.
Trading and official activities will also remain closed at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) during these holidays, said a CSE official.
After Eid vacation, trading and official activities on both bourses will resume from June 9 as regular time.
