DHAKA: Country’s stock markets have been witnessing mixed trends in its price indices on Sunday (May 26), the first trading session of the week.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, went up by 0.77 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 5,251 after the first two hours of day’s trading.
But the two other indices edged lower.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 2.58 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 1190.31 points at 12:27pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips declined 7.61 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 1825. .
Trade deals stood at 54210 with volume of transactions at Tk 1799.31 million.
Of the issues traded, 115 advanced, 169 declined and 58 remained unchanged.
British American Tobaco Bangladesh Company ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 100.09million having changed hands followed by Eastern Cables and IFIC bank.
Chittagong stocks, however, saw downward trends with the CSE Selective Categories Index gained 42.34 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 15998.73 points at 12:23pm
Out of the 214 issues traded, 68 gained, 117 declined and 29 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 97.89 million.
