DHAKA: Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the early hours of trading on Monday (May 27).
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 0.87 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 5252at 12:19 pm.
The two other indices at DSE also edged lower. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 0.33 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 1,189.84 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also declined 1.42 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 1,826.80 points.
Trade deals stood at 57,576 with transaction at over Tk 1,842.03 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 109 advanced, 159 declined and 70 issues remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 157.88million changing hands till then followed by New Line Clothing Ltd and National Life Insurance Company.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CASPI – declining 11.43 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 16,010.93 points, also at 12:19 pm.
Of the 180 issues traded till then, 71 gained, 81 declined and 28 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 83.43 million.

RS
