DHAKA: Country’s stock markets have been witnessing upward trends in its price indices on Wednesday (May 29), the third trading session of the week.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, went up by 23.21 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 5,351.97 after the first two hours of day’s trading.
However, the two other indices also edged higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 5.56 points or 0.46 percent to stand at 1213.40 points at 12:29pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 6.09 points or 0.32 percent to stand at 1,867.46 points.
Trade deals stood at 52,708 with volume of transactions at Tk 1,772.17 million.
Of the issues traded, 181 advanced, 93 declined and 66 remained unchanged.
New Line Clothings Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 108:91 million having changed hands followed by United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd and Runner Automobiles.
Chittagong stocks, however, saw upward trends with the CSE Selective Categories Index gained 41.58 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 16,302 points at 12:28pm
Out of the 211 issues traded, 100 gained, 67 declined and 44 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 89.09 million.
