DHAKA: Country’s stock markets have been witnessing upward trends in its price indices on Thursday (May 30), the last trading session of the week.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, went up by 1.00 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 5,355 after the first two hours of day’s trading.
However, the two other indices also edged higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 0.55 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 1,211.65 points at 12:17pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 0.14 points or 0.007 percent to stand at 1,868.41.
Trade deals stood at 53,262 with volume of transactions at Tk 2,129.34 million.
Of the issues traded, 141 advanced, 132 declined and 56 remained unchanged.
United power generation and Distribution Company ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 182.53 million having changed hands followed by JMI Syringes and Medical Devices and National Life Insurance Ltd.
Chittagong stocks, however, saw downward trends with the CSE Selective Categories Index gained 15.11 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 16,353.53 points at 12:19pm
Out of the 185 issues traded, 82 gained, 68 declined and 35 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 109.58 million.
