DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- is underway with upward trends of share-price indices in the early hours on Sunday (June 9).
Within first two hours of the day’s trading, the benchmark index of the DSE went up by 15.17 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 98.91 points.
DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose over 15.17 points or 0.28 percent to stand at 5,392.92 at 12:19pm.
The two other indices also edged higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.39 points or 0.36 percent to stand at 1,218.65 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 4.14 points or 0.22 percent to stand at 1,880.74.
Trade deals stood at 37084 shares to stand at Tk 1,316.15 million on the DSE, riding on United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd and National Life Insurance Company Ltd.
Of the issues traded, 184 advanced, 103 declined and 46 remained unchanged.
United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 118.92 million having changed hands followed by National Life Insurance Company Ltd and Eastern Cables Ltd.
Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed up to 16,474.67 by gaining over 98.91 points or 0.60 percent at about 12:19pm.
Of the 146 issues traded, 81 advanced, 33 declined and 32 remained unchanged with shares worth Tk 46.40 million traded.
