DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- is underway with downward trend of share-price indices on Sunday (June 16).
Within first two hours of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse declined 22.18 points while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse lost 36.78 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 22.18 points or -0.40 percent to 5,452 points at 12:11pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also declined 3.46 1 points or 0.27 percent to stand at 1,864.96 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed over 6.90 points or 0.35 percent to reach at 1911.82 points.
Turnover stands at Tk 2558.86 million on the DSE, riding on United Power Generation and Distributions Ltd and National Tubes Ltd.
JMI Syringes and Medical Device Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 152.24 million changing hands till then followed by Eastern Housing Limited and BBS Cables Ltd.
Of the issues traded till then, 110 advanced, 170 declined and 58 issues remained unchanged.
However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – declining 36.78 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 16,727.65 also at 12:09 pm.
Out of 200 issues traded, 68 gained, 97 declined and 36 remained unchanged with shares worth Tk 137.93 million traded.
