DHAKA: Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with downward trends in early hours on Monday (June 17).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 31.73 points or 0.58 percent to 5399 at 12:17pm.
The two other indices at DSE also edged lower till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 6.73 points or 0.54 percent to 1228.67 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also declined 10.48 points or 0.55 percent to stand at 1894.60 points.
Of the issues traded, 94 gained, 201 declined and 41 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 2,524.88 million changed hands till then at the DSE.
Monno Ceramic Industries Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 119.97 million changing hands followed by New Line Clothings Ltd and United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed a downward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index losing 92.40 points or 0.55 percent to 16,532 at 12:20 pm.
Of the issues 202 traded till then, 47 gained, 134 declined and 21 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 76.52 million.
