DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw mixed trend in early hours of trading on Sunday (June 30) as enthusiastic investors are on buying spree.
Within first two hours of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 8.60 point up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse lost 14.33 point.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 8.60 points or 0.15 percent to 5438.64 at 12:22pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 8.19 points or 0.42 percent to stand at 1933.10 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 3.80 points or 0.30 percent to stand at 1249.63.
Trade deals stood at 52327 with volume of transactions at Tk 2011.55 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 151 advanced, 129 declined and 69 remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 118:56 pm changing hands till then followed by National Polymer Industries Ltd and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
However, the port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - witnessed downward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index losing 14.33 points or 0.08 percent to 16,628 also at 12:15 pm.
Of the 197 issues traded till then, 76 gained, 82 declined and 39 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 67.53 million.
