DHAKA: Country’s both bourses closed in negative note on Sunday (June 30) as followed cautious stance regarding the approval of finance bill.
At the close of day’s trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse went down by 8.42 points or 0.15 percent to reach 5421.62 .
Two other indices also ended lower. The DSE Shariah Index saw loss of 1.13 point or 0.09 percent to close at 1244.68.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also shed over 4.18 points or 0.21 percent to finish at 1929.09.
Losers beat gainers with 175 losers, 122 gainers while 56 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 4,697.53 million changed hands at the DSE on the first trading session of this week.
“Investors from both sides of the fence remained active and last hour selling pressures lifted the index down as investors remained watchful ahead of upcoming earnings and corporate declarations from listed corporations”, said EBL Securities, in its daily market analysis.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd topped the turnover leaders with shares worth Tk 225.04 million traded followed by United Power Generation and Distribution Company Limited and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Top gainers at DSE were HRTEX, 1STPRIMFMF, SEMLLECMF, ACMELAB and ALIF while top losers at CSE were FIRSTFIN, PLFSL, VAMLBDMF1, ILFSL and PURABIGEN.
The CSE overall share index, CASPI also lost 8.38 points or 0.05 percent to reach 16,634 points at the close today.
Of the 265 issues traded, 96 advanced, 129 suffered loss and 40 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 1,129.76 million.
