DHAKA: Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the early hours of trading on Wednesday (July 3).
Within first two hours, DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 0.66 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 5,384.26 at 1:10 pm.
But the two other indices at DSE edged higher. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 2.03 points or 0.16 percent to stand at 1237.19 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 0.07 points or 0.003 percent to stand at 1912.65 points.
Trade deals stood at 83,064 with transaction at over Tk 3,301.76 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 134 advanced, 160 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged.
National Life Insurance Lt dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 112.66 million changing hands till then followed by Runner Automobiles Ltd and national Tubes Ltd.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – losinging 33.97 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 16,478 points, also at 1:03 pm.
Of the 237 issues traded till then, 81 gained, 120 declined and 36 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 256.63 million.
