DHAKA: Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed mixed trend in early trading on Thursday (July 4), the last session of the week.
Within first two hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse edged 6.83 points up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse fell 6.93 points.
The DSEX benchmark went up by 6.83 points or 0.12 percent to stand at 5379.05 at 12:30 am.
The two other indices also edged higher. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 0.59 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 1234.57 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 2.22 points or 0.11 percent to 1911.89.
Trade deals stood at 60,624 with transaction at over Tk 2311.06 million on the DSE, riding on National Tubes and BRAC Bank.
Of the issues traded till then, 185 advanced, 114 declined and 49 issues remained unchanged.
National Tubes Limited topped the turnover leaders with shares worth Tk 113:22 million changing hands till then, followed by Silco Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Runner Automobiles Ltd.
However, the port city bourse CSE saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - losing 6.93 points on 0.04 percent to stand at 16458.26 points, also at 12:26 pm.
Of the 204 issues traded till then, 99 gained, 72 declined and 33 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 264.93 million.
