DHAKA: Both the bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed downward trends in the middle of trading on Thursday (July 11), the last session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 12.89 points or 0.24 percent to stand at 5,217.73 at 12:54 pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 4.11 points or 0.34 percent to stand at 1,194 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also lost 0.43 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 1,860.46 points.
Trade deals stood at 57219 with transaction at over Tk 1827.90 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 83 advanced, 224 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged.
National Life Insurance Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 94.29 million changing hands till then followed by Monno Ceramic and Grameenphone Ltd.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX- losing 62.86 points or 0.39 percent to stand at 15967 points, also at 12:53pm.
Of the 225 issues traded till then, 50 gained, 148 declined and 27 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 54.36 million.
