DHAKA: Both the bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the middle of trading on Sunday (July 14), amid watchful investors’ selling spree.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 31.15 points or 0.59 percent to stand at 5191at 1:02 pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 1.77 points or 0.14 percent to stand at 1,192.82 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also lost 4.67 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 1,853.03 points.
Trade deals stood at 58,280 with transaction at over Tk 2,103.32 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 86 advanced, 234 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged.
Fortune Shoes Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 125:52 million changing hands till then followed by ML Dying Ltd and United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX- losing -90.32 points or 0.56 percent to stand at 15,882.57 points, also at 12:34pm.
Of the 239 issues traded till then, 53 gained, 166 declined and 20 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 47.09 million.
