DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed mixed trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday (July 17).
Within first two hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse edged 1.71 points up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse fell 13.32 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, rose over 1.71 points or 0.03 per cent to 5,126 at 12:22pm.
But the two other indices edged lower. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 0.59 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 1175 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 1.59 points or 0.08 percent to 1831 points.
Trade deals stood at 41,338 with volume of transactions at Tk 1,348.95 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 164 advanced, 128 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
Fortune Shoes Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 136.97 million changing hands till then followed by Global Insurance Company Ltd and JMI Syringes and medical Services Ltd.
The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index dropping 13.32 points or 0.08 percent to 15,689, also at 12:21pm.
Of the 210 issues traded till then, 95 gained, 91 declined and 24 remained unchanged with shares worth Tk 43.22 million traded.
