DHAKA: The government has decided to grant permission to export rawhide in order to ensure fair price.
Abdul Latif Bakshi, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Commerce disclosed this information on Tuesday (August 8).
According to the ministry, it is being observed, through information obtained from various sources, rawhide of the sacrificial animal is not being bought and sold at the fixed price. The traders of various levels related to leather industries are being called upon to be responsible in this regard.
The ministry has urged the businessmen and the local administration to preserve rawhide locally following proper procedure, so that the quality of the raw hide is not damaged.
The Ministry of Commerce expects cooperation from divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and Upazila Executive Officers.
