DHAKA: Sonali, Rupali, Janata and Agrani banks won't be refinanced and moreover, won't be allocated budget anymore.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal revealed the decision Sunday (August 25).
The four state banks have to run by own money, he said.
"This year's budget has allocations for the (above mentioned) banks. But, allocations won't be made anymore in future," the minister said after holding a meeting with the chairmen and managing directors of state owned commercial banks, at the NEC Auditorium in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Sunday (August 25).
The banks have to run by own income through serving people, added AHM Mustafa Kamal.
