DHAKA: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday (September 3), the third session of the week.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, shed over 23.82 points or 0.47 percent to stand at 5009.70 at 11:51 am.
But the two other indices edged higher in the early trading.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 4.82 points or 0.41percent to stand at 1167.57 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 12.47 points or 0.70 percent to stand at 1762.52 points.
Trade deals stood at 40,399 with transaction at over Tk 1,277.43 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 104 advanced, 154 declined and 61 issues remained unchanged.
Monno Ceramic Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 188.13 million changing hands till then followed by Stylecraft Limited, Monno Jute Stafflers Ltd and Grameenphone Ltd.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX–losing 2.85 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 1119.38 points, also at 11:47 am.
Of the 126 issues traded till then, 37 gained, 65 declined and 24 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 21.18 million.
