DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said the air shipping cost, on an emergency basis, for each kilogram (kg) of imported onion is around Tk 150.

The minister was addressing a seminar in city’s TCB Building on Thursday (Dec 12).

He said, “Air shipping cost is Taka 150 per kg apart from other cost of the imported onion. Despite this, we brought the onions by air considering benefit of the people. If we had supply enough, the price would not have increased so much.

Bangladesh Competition Commission’s chairman Md. Mofizul Islam presided over the seminar.
