DHAKA: The ministry of commerce decided to strengthen drives in the countrywide markets to keep supply of onion going as well as its price normal.

Supply of local and imported onions in the country’s market is normal and there is no justified reason for increasing the price of onion, said a press release of the commerce ministry issued on Monday (January 6).

According to the release, there is sufficient quantity of onion in the market. The locally produced onion has already hit the market while onion has already been imported and also being imported from various countries as per the demand.

The government is giving all necessary support to the importers and onion is entering the country every day, the release said.
