Commerce minister Tipu Munshi said state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) was set to start selling potato at Tk 25 per kg by three days.
The government has taken the decision following the potato price hike in markets, the minister said.
He was briefing the press at the secretariat on Sunday after a meeting with the owners of cold storages, warehouses and wholesalers.
The minister said: “There’ll be no crisis of daily essentials, at least in the next four months, as the government has taken necessary preparations. This year, TCB can provide better services as the amount of stock is better than last year.”
