The restaurant owners on Saturday placed their demands including allowing restaurants to reopen following health guidelines or to serve maintaining 50 percent capacity.
Imran Hasan, secretary general of the association, placed a written statement in this regard at a press briefing.
President of the association Osman Gani, First Secretary General Firoz Alam, among others, attended the briefing.
They also demanded stimulus to the workers of this sector via mobile phone or assist them with food via specific cards, to give long terms loans with no or little interests from the SME sector as running capital to run their business,
Besides, the restaurant owners sought government stimulus for the workers of this sector via mobile phone or food aid via certain cards.

As per the written statement, they demanded government instruction to provide vaccines to owners-workers on an emergency basis considering the restaurant sector as front liners of the pandemic.
The written hand note mentioned that about two crore people are involved in this sector as some 30 lakh workers work in 60 thousand restaurants in divisional cities, districts and upazilas.
