First Jewellery Expo ends with huge visitor turnout 

The first ever Bangladesh Jewellery Expo ended on Saturday getting huge responses from lovers of precious yellow metal.

Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) oranised the three-day expo at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital from March 17.

BAJUS President and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir was the chief guest at the grand closing ceremony at the expo venue.

The fair marked the golden jubilee of the country’s independence and birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The gala closing ceremony began with a fashion show followed by musical performance.

Jewellery Expo showcased locally made ornaments and the excellence of local goldsmiths to the visitors from home and abroad.

The main attraction of the closing ceremony was mega raffle draw for the visitors of the three-day expo.

Plenty of visitors made it to the venue compound with festive mood prevailed in the stalls in the fair which aimed at branding the country’s ornaments and potentials of jewellers.

The three-day exhibition was held at halls 1, 2 and 3 of the ICCB.

Various jewellers announced attractive offers and discounts at the fair.

Uttam Banik, treasurer of BAJUS and chairman of the expo committee, said expatriates visiting the expo praised the acquisitive design and quality of the local ornaments.
