COX’S BAZAR: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has flown to Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka, to witness the conditions of Rohingyas at the refugee camps in Teknaf and Ukhia upazilas.

Priyanka Chopra, a global Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights, came here on a field visit.

The flight BS-141 of US-Bangla Airlines, carrying the Bollywood superstar, landed in Cox’s Bazar around 12:30pm Monday (May 21).

US-Bangla General Manager (Marketing Support & PR) Kamrul Islam confirmed the news to Banglanews.

The 35-year-old ‘Fashion’ famed actress earlier arrived in Dhaka, in the morning.

Cox’s Bazar District Police Spokesperson Afrazul Haque Tutul said that Priyanka Chopra is now staying at Hotel Royal Tulip in Inani.

She will go to the Shyamlapur Rohingya camp in Baharchhara area under Tekhnaf upazila, via the Marine Drive Road. 

However, Priyanka on Monday tweeted a photograph of herself from an aircraft looking out of the window.

"Follow my Instagram to share my experiences as I visit the Rohingya refugee camps on this Unicef field visit. Children uprooted, the world needs to care. We need to care," she captioned the image.

Priyanka is scheduled to visit Rohingya camps in Balukhali and Jamtoli areas in Ukhia, on Tuesday morning (May 22). In the evening of the same day, she will go to the Teknaf Rohingya camp. 

On Wednesday (May 23), she will visit the Kutupalong Rohingya camp. 

The Miss World 2000 winner is scheduled to leave Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning (May 24).
