DHAKA: Bangladesh has selected celebrated filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s film ‘Doob’ as its entry to the foreign language category at the 91st Academy Awards. 

Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies disclosed the announcement, at a press briefing held at a Karwan Bazar hotel, around 12pm Sunday (September 23).

Director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Jaaz Multimedia Proprietor Abdul Aziz, Habibur Rahman Khan, Golam Rabbani Biplab, Abu Musa Debu, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, Pankaj Palito and Shamima Akter, among others, attended the briefing.

Doob (No Bed of Roses) released in Bangladesh on October 27, 2017.

Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Rokeya Prachy and Parno Mittra played the major roles in Doob.

The film was jointly produced by Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay movies, co-produced by Irrfan Khan.
