One more dengue patient died while 60 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 2), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 13 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 47 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of one patient died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 145  were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 39 were in Dhaka and 106 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 153 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 59 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 94 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 262 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 395 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
