DHAKA: If there is no polio infected people found in Bangladesh within a month, it will also be declared ‘Polio Free’ along with South East Asia Region.
World Health Organization (WHO) medical officer in the immunization and vaccine division Dr Jayantha Liyanage told banglanews on Wednesday.
WHO’s Regional Certification Committee will take decision over the matter in a meeting to be held on March 26-27 in Delhi.
Dr Jayantha Liyanage said if there is no unexpected occurs, Bangladesh will be a ‘Polio Free’ country from 27 March.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim and National Professor MR Khan and nine others will attend the meeting.
