DHAKA: Syngenta Bangladesh Limited, a world leading agrobusiness company, organized a training program titled "Doctors Training on Handling Pesticide Poisoning" aiming to increase competence of doctors to handle the poisoning cases patients.
Thirty Two doctors participated in the training from different upazilas and district level hospitals of Jessore at Hotel City Plaza International in Jessore on September 21.
The training program was held with the collaboration and technical support of Toxicology Society of Bangladesh (TSB) with consent of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Dr. Atiqur Rahman Khan, Civil Surgeon of Jessore was the chief guest and Dr. Shyamal Krishna Saha, Assistant Director of Jessore General Hospital was special guest in the programme.
Among others Mahmodul Islam, Warehouse Manager, Mr. Monwar Rahim, stockiest and Shariful Islam Sales Unit Manager of Syngenta Jessore were also present.
Technical part of Doctors Training on Handling Pesticide Poisoning was delivered by Dr. Md Robed Amin, Associate Professor of Medicine, Dhaka Medical College, Dr. Fazle Rabbi Chowdhury, Consultant, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, Dr. Ariful Basher, Register, Department of Tropical Medicine, Mymensingh Medical College and Mohammad Habibullah, Manager, stewardship delivered about Syngenta, its social responsibility and overall Corporate Responsibility Programs of Syngenta Bangladesh Limited as well as purpose of the training.
Dr. Shyamal Krishna Saha, Assistant Director of Jessore General Hospital said in his speech that previously they have to face various problems to handle the poisoning cases patients but getting training on handling pesticide poisoning with manual now doctors are more confident to serve the patient.
Dr. Atiqur Rahman Khan thanked Syngenta for delivering such essential training for the doctors with providing updated poisoning handling manual. He is hopeful that getting such training now first contract doctor will be able properly handle the patients thus they could able to safe life.
He thanked Syngenta for such kind of arrangement beyond their commercial activities for the betterment of mankind.
