DHAKA: Prime Minister`s adviser for Health and Family Welfare Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali urged all to extend cooperation in fulfilling the government pledge to ensure “health services for all”.

“Besides, physicians should also play their due roles in ensuring the services as we have accountability to the people,” said the adviser while addressing the inaugural session of a training course Sunday.

The five-day training course is being held for newly appointed health assistants at Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) bhaban in the city. DG of Health Directorate Shah Monir Hossain presided over the session.

Modasser also assured proper training and said they have to prepare themselves as efficient officials for implementing the government-declared ‘charter of change’.

Speaking as special guest, state minister for health Mujibur Rahman Fakir said no doctors had been appointed in last seven years though 32,000 posts lay vacant in the sector.

He claimed that the ruling government has given appointments to the vacant posts to ensure health for all.
