The Department of Medicine Administration has allowed a clinical trial of the Bangvax vaccine in human body.

Globe Biotech Limited Senior Manager (Quality and Regulatory) Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin confirmed this information to Banglanews on Sunday (July 17). 

“We got permission for the clinical trial of the vaccine...we will give further details regarding this later,” he said.

Bangvax vaccine developed by Globe Biotech proved to be safe and effective in pre-clinical trials in rabbits, rats and monkeys. 

On November 23, 2021, the local pharmaceutical company received Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) ethical permission to begin human trials of its single-dose Covid-19 vaccine "Bangavax."
