Dengue: Two die, 51 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Two people died of dengue fever and 51 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till 8 am Tuesday (July 19).

The Directorate General for Health Services (DGHS) today issued a release on the country's Dengue situation.

According to the DGHS, in the 24 hours, 38 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka while 13 others were admitted outside the capital.

Besides, 170 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 54 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 1,880 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 1,611 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, five died from the mosquito-borne viral disease on July 19 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
