Dengue: One dies, 99 hospitalised in last 24 hours

One person died of dengue fever and 99 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till 8 am Tuesday (July 26).

The Directorate General for Health Services (DGHS) today issued a release on the country's Dengue situation.

According to the DGHS, in the 24 hours, 74 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka while 25 others were admitted outside the capital.

Besides, 227 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 74 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 2,305 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 1,996 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, eight died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Dhaka till July 26 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
