Dengue: One dies, 85 hospitalised in last 24 hours

One person died from dengue and 85 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Saturday (July 30).

The Directorate General for Health Services (DGHS) today issued a release on the country's Dengue situation.

In the 24 hours, 72 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 13 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 254 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 82 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 2,580 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 2,239 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, nine died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Dhaka till July 30 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
