Dengue: Two die, 65 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Two people died of dengue fever and 65 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning (August 2), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS today issued a release on the country's Dengue situation.

According to the DGHS, in the 24 hours, 51 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka while 14 others were admitted outside the capital.

Besides, 246 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 76 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 2,812 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 2,478 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, twelve died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in the country till August 2 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
