Dengue: one dies, 128 hospitalised in last 24 hours

One people died of dengue fever and 128 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning (August 16), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 108 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 20 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 361 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 63 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 3,983 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 3,542 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, 17 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Dhaka till August 10 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
