Dengue: Five die, 284 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Five dengue patients died and 284 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Tuesday (Sep 6).

The Directorate General for Health Services (DGHS) today issued a release on the country's Dengue situation.

In the 24 hours, 224 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 60 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 711 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 139 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 6,692 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 5,811 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, 31 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in the country till September 6 this year.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
