NETROKONA: A Netrokona court on Monday sentenced lifetime imprisonment to 15 people, including four siblings, for their involvement in the killing of one Salam.

Additional Session Judge Abdul Hamid passed the order at around 11.00am. The Judge also fined Tk 20,000 to each of the lifers. On default, the convicted have to serve two more years in jail.

During the verdict, all the 15-convicted were present in the court.

According to the case statement, the convicts chopped Salam to death in a paddy field on November 12, 2001.

Later, victim’s uncle Ramzan Ali filed a case against 15 people, in this connection.

On April 12, 2002, police submitted the charge sheet to the court.
