Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours, beginning 9:00 am today, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its latest weather bulletin.
According to the forecast, several areas of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions may see rain or thunder showers. Similar weather is also expected at one or two places in Rajshahi, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, with moderately heavy falls in some areas.
The Met office said day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged nationwide. It added that the monsoon is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
On Thursday, the country’s highest temperature was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius in Patuakhali, while the lowest was 24.0 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.
In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 5:58 pm today and rise at 5:46 am tomorrow.
