CHITTAGONG: Two journalists were injured in a cocktail explosion while capturing photos of a pro-hartal procession in port city’s station road area on Tuesday morning, the second day of 18-party’s 60-hour hartal.

The injured were identified as Shamsul Alam Babu, 35, cameraperson of Channel I and M Hasan, 35, cameraperson of Desh TV, both are private television channels.

Sources said a cocktail was hurled towards a vehicle of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel while some hartal supporters passing the station road area with a procession at around 8.00am.

During the time, two journalists sustained splinter injuries, sources added.

Assistant Commissioner of Kotwali Zone Mirza Sayem Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
