They also were fined Tk 500,000 each, in default, five more years to serve in the jail.
Additional Metropolitan Session Judge of Special Court of Dhaka-3 at Bakshibazar Government Alia Madrasa (a makeshift court room) Dr M Akhtaruzzaman passed the verdict on Tuesday.
They were found guilty of killing 57 army officials and punished under the section 302 and 109 of the penal code.
In reaction to the verdict, Pintu said, “No witness submitted deposition against me. I was made guilty intentionally.”
Earlier, around 12.00 noon the Judge started going through the verdict of BDR carnage at Pilkhana.
Some 160 persons, including Pintu and Torab Ali were sentenced to life term while some 152 persons, including DAD Touhid were awarded death penalty.
Some 263 jawans were awarded to different jail-term from three to 17 years for their involvement with the incident and 271 were acquitted from the charge as their involvement was not proved.
A total of 74 people, including 57 army officials, in command of the border-security force, were killed in the bloody mutiny at Pilkhana on February 25-26 in 2009.
